To complete her formal education, Dr. Jann returned to University of Florida (UF)  to earn her doctorate in psychology with an emphasis in behavior analysis. During these years she studied and worked under faculty such as Dr. Brian Iwata, Dr. Timothy Vollmer, Dr. Jesse Dallery, and Dr. Lise Abrams. During her tenure as a doctoral student, she participated in research on functional analyses of problem behavior, response-response relationships, preference, sampling, and verbal/nonverbal behavior correspondence. She conducted her dissertation on the assessment of multiple problem behaviors. Additionally, she taught a variety of undergraduate courses in psychology, served as an academic advisor for undergraduate students in the psychology department, and assisted with the operation and supervision of a bustling clinical-research laboratory at a special education school  where she consulted with teachers and school personnel and trained UF students in research and clinical practices.

Following completion of her academic programs, Dr. Jann worked as a lead BCBA at an ABA clinic  specializing in assessment and treatment of problem behavior and skill deficits. Next, she worked as the Clinical Director and Chief Operating Officer of a large education-based company  that provided comprehensive home-based services nation-wide, and internationally.

Dr. Jann is excited to now grow roots in the Sarasota area and to share her expertise with local families and professionals. She enjoys collaborating with other professionals and caregivers to ensure that the best possible care is provided to her clients. She specializes in the assessment and treatment of problem behavior exhibited by all ages, abilities, and diagnoses. She is sensitive to needs of clients in the Deaf community, has studied and used American Sign Language (ASL), and will coordinate efforts with ASL interpreter when requested. Her enthusiasm for producing therapeutic change will help you remain motivated and focused on your goals. She also offers consultation, training, and supervision to BCBAs and others during their professional certification training and development. In her free time, Dr. Jann enjoys spending time with her two dogs, visiting the beach, bicycling, snorkeling, and traveling throughout the Caribbean.

​Dr. Jann majored in psychology and completed her bachelor of science degree with honors at the University of Florida (UF)  in Gainesville, Florida. During her time at UF, she studied child anger, obsessive-compulsive disorder, and Tourette’s syndrome atShands hospital  under the supervision of Dr. Thomas Brunner and Dr. Eric Storch. Under the supervision of Dr. Brian Iwata, she was a full-time research assistant in applied behavior analysis laboratories at a special education school, a clinic for self-injury, and the Arc of Alachua County  where she focused on conducting functional analyses, function-based treatments, preference and skill assessments, and training undergraduate research assistants. She worked with individuals diagnosed with Prader-Willi syndrome, autism, developmental disabilities, and those in the Deaf Community. Additionally, she assisted with the production of training programs for reliable data collection methods and caregiver training.

Next, Dr. Jann relocated to Baltimore, Maryland in order to attain her master of arts in human services psychology, applied behavior analysis track, at theUniversity of Maryland Baltimore County.  Additionally, she worked full-time on a multidisciplinary team as a Clinical Specialist at the Kennedy Krieger Institute (KKI),  the pediatric teaching hospital for Johns Hopkins. During her work at KKI, Dr. Jann conducted functional analyses of severe problem behavior and implemented comprehensive intervention programs aimed at maintenance/generalization. Her patients presented with a wide array of disabilities including autism, CHARGE syndrome, epilepsy, reactive attachment disorder, fetal alcohol syndrome, oppositional defiant disorder, ADHD, and a variety of other developmental disabilities. Dr. Jann also conducted work in the areas of competing stimulus assessments, diet and exercise, crisis management, and staff training and she completed her thesis on token reinforcement. During her time in Baltimore, she worked and studied with experts such as Dr. SungWoo Kahng, Dr. Iser Deleon, Dr. Charles Catania, and Dr. Heather Jennett.
